Chand minar is situated at daultabad. It was constructed in pure Turkish style by Alauddin Bahmany in 1435. This is the fabulous example of Islamic creative skill. The 30 meter minerate is divided into four flours. There is a small mosque at its base along with 24 chambers. It is roofed with blue Persian tiles which makes it wonderful.
The important attractions of the tomb are studded gates, path passes bastions, a draw bridge and the beautiful chini mahal where the last king of golkunda was imprisoned for 13 years in 1687. On the mainstay of the fort there is a 6.6 m long iron cannon(quila shikan).
There is the flight of 100 steps stairs which guide to the baradari at the closing stage of the tunnel within the citadel. The baradari is said to be the palace of yadavi queen and afterward shah jahan. There is one more cannon at the apex .there is an inscription in Persian around the muzzle of the cannons as “creator of storms”. The city of Aurangabad is well linked with some other major places within and outside the state by air, rail, and road.
Architecture
The chand minar is a 30 mt high tower within the fort. This was supposed to be the symbol of victory of alauddin bahamani over the fort that he celebrated in the form of construction in 1435.the minerate has been divided into four storeys with carved motifs and glossy tiles. It was used as a prayer hall.
