Thiruvananthapuram zoo is quite famous in Kerala, in Thiruvananthapuram the zoo is situated and another name of it is Trivandrum zoo.

The zoo was set up in 1857 by Trevencore Maharaja and originally the aim was to recreate the zoo but that couldn’t happen as all the places began to occupy by human beings which didn’t support the purpose.

In 1995, Kerala Government started to renovate the zoo and took the help of Central Zoo Authority.

History

In the city this zoo can be found easily and it is also said that the design of the zoo is quite impressive which makes it very attractive among other well-known zoos in Asia. Beautiful lakes and lawns can be found here. Now with the help of Central Zoo Authority this beautiful zoo has managed to maintain its importance.

Animals

People can get familiar with 82 different kinds of animals in the same zoo. African animals are quite popular in there and also famous Asian elephants are mentionable. Asian Lions and Royal Bengal tiger are good crowd puller. There is also a separate room for different types of snakes.
