Thrissur Zoo



Thrissur Zoo is a famous place in Kerala, also known as Sate Museum and Zoo. Earlier it was called Trichur Zoo. It is spread over 13.5 acres which means lot of animals can find their home in there. Being country’s oldest zoo it has a reputation that helps attracting visitors. People would be able to find art museum of the zoo by which they try to reflect their rich culture. In Thrissur the zoo is a very good crowd puller because of its old reputation and good collection of animals. Some rare animals could also be found in the zoo.
History
There visitors have a great opportunity to see well decorated botanical garden and Art museum. There is a museum of natural history at the zoo. The place is surrounded by beautifully decorated trees and flower beds, while experiencing this one can find the small park made for different kind of snakes. There is the Art Museum where one can find very goodcollections of all religious idols and sculptures. Different kind of jewelleries and traditional lamps are there to pull enough crowds.
Those who love animals can have a great time seeing different kind of national and foreign animals including some attracting animals like sloth bear, different types of birds and deer.
Animals
The zoo has many animals to entertain people throughout the year. Tiger have always beensuccessful to attract visitors. But other animals like Camel, deer, Lion, different kind of birdsand lion tailed macaques have been pulling good crowds.

The timing is 10.00 am - 06.30 pm. Monday remains close.
On Wednesday visitors are allowed till 1 pm.

Adults: Rs 6/-, Children: Rs 4/-, Family (parents+2 children): Rs 20, Student group (35 students+2 teachers): 90/-
