Chopta , a picture perfect destination still not been unveiled by the tourists is located in the beautifully carved Utthrakhand. The place serves as the starting point for the trekking to Tungnath. Tungnath is the third point to Kedar and 1.5kms ahead of it is Chandrashila. A marvellous view of the astonishing peaks can be sited from this unravelled place. These peaks are the great Himalayan , Nanda Devi, Trishul and Chaukhamba Peaks. This lovely hamlet is located at an altitude of 2680mts and comprises of a variety of flora and fauna.

Chopta, the hill station is located in amidst of the Gopeshwar and Guptkashi. The mornings of the town are full of energy and cool and the day is much more happening with the splash of the beautiful sun rays.The place is known for its winter time snow, when people can enjoy the joy of trekking in snow.

Places to Visit

Tungnath Temple: it is one of the most renowned places where lord shiva resides. This beautiful temple is located at an altitude of 3,680mts. It’s is a place where people worship Lord shiva Ji’s arm and is situated at a distance of 4 km from Chopta.

Chandrashilla: this beautiful place is located 5km away from Chopta and offers people a beautiful scene for the great Himalayan range. It’s the tallest peak to which Tungnath and Chandrshilla are situated.

Madhmaheshwar- A place where lord Shiva resides in its navel avatar, is locate at an altitude of 3,289mts. This northern and Indian style carved place of worship is located at a distance of 1.5kms away from the little hamlet of Chopta. A lake is present within the temple area which is believed to serve the holy water.

Deoria Tal: The beautiful lake surrounded by dense forest all around is located at a distance of just 2km from the Sari village. The outstanding reflection of the peak of the Chaukhamba Range adds stars to this serene beauty.

Kalimath:  The holy place to worship goddess Kali Devi is Kalimath temple. This temple is important in its own way. It is one of the most sacred places of the district.

The nearest airport to this beautiful place is Jolly Grant Airport. A taxi/cab can be hired by the individual to cover the rest over distance, which is 221km long journey.

By Rail

The most nearby railway station to the place is the Rishikesh railway Station. The rishikest railway station is in a well built network with the major places of our country and is one amongst the holy places of our country. The station is located at a distance of 202km from the beautiful hill station Chopta.

By Road
