Afzal Khan Cenotaph is located in the Bijapur. According to the belief, the tomb of Afzal Khan was started by himself at that time.
But unfortunately, he was not buried in that tomb. As close to that tomb, there were about 64 graves in eleven rows that are on the platform of masonry in which his wives were buried.
According to the myths, all those have met their tragic end in the well that is situated near those graves. There is one grave that left empty because one of his wives was escaped from there.

Gol Gumbaz
Bijapur is more popular for a monument named Gol Gumbaz. This Gol Gumbaz is basically a tomb named on Mohammed Adil Shah who ruled over Bijapur from 1627 to 1657. This tomb is the largest one as compared to the St. Peter’s Basilica in the city of Rome. This tomb has a unique attraction that is basically the central chamber in this monument in which sound is echoed minimum for seven times. There also present a Whispering Gallery, which is also other attraction of this Gol Gumbaz in which one can heard a minute of sound at least for about 37 metres distance clearly. There is also present the ruins of guest house in the Gol Gumbaz and also there is a mosque called Naqqar Khana.
Ibrahim Rauza
Ibrahim Rauza is a very popular tomb of Ibrahim Adil Shah II who is a fifth king just like the Akbar Mughal emperor who ruled over about 1580 to 1627. He is also mainly known for religious tolerance. This tomb was built on a single rock and it features basically for symmetry. Inspiration to built the Ibrahim Rauza was captured by the famous Taj Mahal according to the myths.

Except for the months of summer, there is a moderate climate in the Bijapur.
  • Summers (starts from March to May). In the summer season, tourists are not advised to come from the April to May as there was about 42 degree Celsius of temperature in the maximum range.
  • Monsoons (starts from June to September). The average annual rainfall in the Bijapur and some moderate showers in this reason. After the rainfall, the fresh foliage in the Bijapur looks very beautiful.
  • Winters (starts from December to February). The season of winters is very pleasant. The maximum temperature range is from 20 °C to 30 °C.
