Ananda Mahal is also famous by name of 'Palace Of Delights' that was being built in 1589 AD by Adil Shah. This is the building of two stories that was once upon a time housed by the palace’s ladies and now has the presence of examination bungalow, gymkhana club, and many offices along with the assistant commissioner's quarters.
Just like the other monuments situated in Bijapur the Ananda Mahal is also famous for the harmonious merge of present as well as the past.
Architecture
This Mahal is out of the awesome monuments of the Bijapur that is about 530 kms towards the northwest side of Bangalore. This palace is being surrounded by luxuriant gardens and abundant cascades. The walls of this palace are decorated very well having large rooms along with two halls, the central hall and the frontal hall. The interiors of this palace are festooned with delightful foliations that are banquet to eyes of the tourists. Anand Mahal exhibits a slight amalgamation of present as well as the past.

The nearest airport available is at Belgaum that is about 205 km from this palace. Bijapur has the connection by road to Bangalore, Goa and to Belgaum. Various trains are available between Bijapur to Mumbai, Bangalore, Hospet and Vasco da Gama via Londa and Hubli.

Gol Gumbaz
Gol Gumbaz is the famous monument of Bijapur. This Gumbaz is the crypt of Mohammed Adil Shah who ruled from 1627-1657. This is one of the largest domes that has been built ever and is next to the Basilica of St Peter situated in Rome. The central chamber of this dome is the very important point of attraction as the sound echoes seven times in this hall. There also the famous whispering Gallery in this Gumbaz where one can hear even the minute sounds very clearly from about 37 mts distance. The complex of Gol Gumbaz consists of Naqqar Khana, the hall of the trumpeters, a mosque and the skeleton of visitor's houses.
Ibrahim Rauza
This tomb was built by the famous ruler Ibrahim Adil Shah II who ruled from 1580-1627 and was dynasty’s 5th king. Just like Akbar the Mughal ruler he was also famous for giving importance to various religions. This monument has been built on single rock and is famous for the remarkable symmetry of appearance. This remarkable designing of this monument acted as the inspiration for Shah Jahan to build Taj Mahal.

The climate of Bijapur always remains moderate except in summers.
