Andhra Pradesh Ananthagiri Hill Station
The Anantgiri village is located to the east of Eastern Ghats, the natural border line betweenAndhra Pradesh state and Orissa state. It is a dense forest area of Andhra Pradesh state and is 6 km away from the nearest city Vikarabad located in the Rangareddy district. The famous AnantaPadmanabha Swami Temple, a temple devoted to Lord Vishnu is located here. This temple is visited by the pilgrims and it is very crowded during the weekends. It is mostly visited by the people of Hyderabad and other nearby cities during the weekend. The priests of this temple belong to the Nalapur village located in the Alampally town near Anantgiri. These priests are serving for this shrine since many decades.
The distance of Ananthagiri from Vishakhapatnam is around 63 km and from the capital city ofAndhra Pradesh, Hyderabad it is 487 km away. Ananthagiri ,Borra ,Bheemapolu ,Chilakalagedda ,Gumma and Garugubilli are the villages which are included in AnanthagiriMandal.
According to the legends, the Elysian Tirumala Hills was the temporary residence of Lord Vishnu years back. It is also referred as MarkandeyaKshetram, the place of injunction of Lord Brahma. This place was opted by Markandeya for penance because of its serenity and calm surroundings.

By Air
The nearest airport to Anathagiri is the Vishakhapatnam airport.
By Rail
The Srikakulam railway station is located at a distance of 3 km from Anathagiri hills and it is the nearest hill station to the place.
By Road
The road network connects the Anathagiri hills to the major cities like Vishakhpatnam, Hyderabad etc. the state transport as well as the private transport provides the bus services. The private cars and cabs are provided by the All India Tourist Permit to travel to Anathagiri.
Places To Visit
Musi River
It is a tributary of the Krishna River originating from the Anathagiri hills, close to the town of Vikarabad. This river is called as Muchukunda river when flow from the Deccan Plateau region, in Andhra Pradesh State. The two dams Osman Sagar and HimayatSagar dam are constructed on the river.
Lord Anantha Padmanabha Temple
This temple is devoted to Lord Vihnu’s form (Sri AnanthaPadmanabhaSwamy) in which he was incarnated. The temple has a main deity of Lord Vishnu which lies on Anantha and the snake is floating on the water in Vaikunta. The Goddess Lakshmi, wife of Vishnu is also found seated there.

Bhavanasi Lake
It is a holy lake that originates from Nallamala Hills. It is considered to be of equal importance as Badrinath in the north. Many tourists visit this lake to take a dip in the holy water of the lake.
