Himachal Pradesh, the abode of natural beauty is the home to the beautiful Hill station of Chail. It is known as the Paradise of Himachal Pradesh and is a lovable spot for the honeymooners. The hill station is situated at a level of 2,250 meters above that of the sea level.  The Maharaja of Patiala, Bhupinder Singh after getting exiled from Shimla, decided to denote Chail as his very own summer capital.
Being the abode of the beauty of Nature, citizens of Chail has no relationship to terms such as deforestation and pollution. It is one of the hotspots for the tourists as they can make some great memories by enjoying the beautiful natural greenery which is both quaint and silent.
History
Maharaja Bhupinder Singh has long ago tagged Chail as his own summer capital. In the year of 1891, Lord Kitchener subjected Maharaja Bhupinder Singh to his own wrath and was thus exiled from Shimla. Prohibition was allotted to him from entering the British Raj`s summer capital. Thus, to regain his honor Maharaja Bhupinder Singh planned on building a much more magnificent summer capital than Shimla. He found the little village of hail to be perfect for the project. Dense Deodar forests surrounded the are on all sides, as well as Shimla being in the direct view and last but not the least the Chail hill as of a much higher length than that of Shimla at a height of 2226 meters. Maharaja`s spectacular architectural palace is now being reformed into a tourist hotel.
How To Reach
By Air
The airport of Jubbar Hati is located at a 63 km distance from Chail and is the nearest one. Tourists can avail taxi or jeep facilities from the airport in order to reach Chail. Delhi and Chandigarh is connected to the airport. Delhi airport has connections to all of the cosmopolitan cities of India as well as to majority of the foreign cities
By Rail
Kalka is the nearest railhead located 86 km away from Chail. Chandigarh is another option if decided to travel through the railways located at a distance of 95 km. Chandigarh also has connected to all the significant cities of India.
By Road
Chail has facilities of local bus services in order to travel to the cities situated nearby. Shimla is located at a distance of 45 km from Chail and thus there is availability of deluxe bus services from Shimla to Chail on a regular basis.
Places To Visit
Chail Sanctuary, Sadhupul (3 km)
This particular sanctuary was made official on 21st march ,1976nearby a town of the ShimlaDistrict covering an area which spans to about 10,854.36 hectares.  The sanctuary of Chail serves a home for the species of ‘ghoral’, ‘kakkar’, ‘ sambhar’, ‘red jungle fowl’ and also ‘ khalij’ and ‘ cheer ‘ Pleasants. Sighting posts such as those of Machan has been constructed all around Khuruin.
Cricket Ground
The cricket ground is being surrounded by the dense deodar forests and is known as the highest one in the whole world. Built in the year of 1893, it is situated at a height of 2,444m. The cricket ground serves as a playground for the Chail Military School.  Though football is being played on the same ground, there is also the presence of a Basket Ball Court well maintained. The Military School built a splendid tree house in a historic tree, situated is one of the corners of the ground.

Weather And Best Time To Visit
Chail enjoys a cool, amicable climate throughout all the seasons.
  • Summers (March to May) is reined by an average temperature of 15 degree Celsius. 24 degree Celsius is the maximum tem temperature it goes up to.
  • Monsoons (June to September) are reigned by mail rainy weather.  The rainy days makes Chail look even more spectacular.
  • Winters (October to February) is the time for snowfall and are reigned by chilly temperatures decreasing down to 2 degree Celsius or even less.
Tourists can spend a great time in Chail during any season of the year.
  • Flowering season reigns from October to March and is a great time for the Tourists to visit Chail.
  • The fabulous climate of April to September is also a great time for the tourists to experience tourist activities.
Language And Culture
Culture
Hindus occupy about 90% of the population of Himachal Pradesh. There are a lot of main communities such as Kolis, Rathis, Kannets, Rajputs, and Brahmins. The state is occupied by tribal population as well namely the Gaddis, Kinnars, Gujjars, Pangawals and Lahaulis. The same culture is followed by Chail.
A large embroidered shawl, namely the Thapada, is a specialty handicraft of Himachal Pradesh. Other craft items are Kohana, a type of wall hanging, caps strewn with exquisite embroidery, caps, blouses and pillow covers.
The music and dance of the state is heavily influenced by the religion of the state where the people invoke Gods during the time of festivals through the medium of dancing and singing.

Languages such as English, Garhwali and Hindi and Himachali are spoken.

Festivals
Lohri
The Lohri festival marked by its bonfires is celebrated on at the night of January 13 to signify the sowing of Rabi Crop every year.
Shivratri
The festival for the celebration of the marriage of Shiva, Shivratri in the month of March denotes rituals followed by the famous Baijnath Shrine.
Dussehra, Diwali and Holi the respectively the three major festivals celebrated in Chail with high spirits and fanfare.
Activities
Angling, trekking, hiking and walking into the woods are the three main activities of Chail. You can simply go wandering into the woods or can strenuously take up hiking on the hillsides here. Chail can also be a great favorite for the adventurous people for they can take up angling by the river nearby or exciting horse riding around the edge of the narrow trail surrounding the hill.

Get Around Chail
Try bringing in your own car if you intend to visit places nearby.  Though there is availability of private taxis there are actually quite expensive. Look forward to long walks if you cherish walking hill stations. Though being a small town Chail quite spread out is known for some steep roads (specially mentioning the road that leads towards the cricket ground from the main market square).
Get Out
Shimla is great place with many attractions to visit such as the restaurants, souvenir shops and the Mall for you can then readily run off to Chail even Shimla gets crowded.
Kufri located at a distance of 25 km is mainly known for its ski slopes and the whole panoramic vistas surrounding it. The refreshing cool air of Kufri is quite enchanting to make a day trip.
Fagu located away from the common route is just a few kilometers away from Kufri.  Enjoy the fascinating views surrounding the area and simply immerse yourself into the scenic beauty of Nature my making a simply trip to Fagu.
Shopping
Shopping in is mainly looking forward to buy caps, shawls and woolens. Being a small little town, Chail does not provide many opportunities to the tourists to do shopping.
