History
Pfutsero is the block headquarters of Phek district in Nagaland. It is situated at the centre of the Phekdistrict Chokris and Khezhas that are Chakhesang’s sub tribes form the major part of Pfutsero’s population. Among all the towns of Nagaland, Pfutsero has the greatest altitude and is the chilliest inhabited town of Nagaland. The temperature here drops very low during winter nights. The dominant religion of this town is Christianity with most of the people as Baptists. One will also findPentecostRoman Catholics and Revivalists. Pfutsero also comprises of one of the best and the oldest theological colleges of the state that is The Baptist Theological College. It is a very significant town of Nagaland with respect to its commerciality. Most of the population is out on the streets shopping during Christmas as this the main festive season of the town. An ADC heads this green and small town.

By Air
One can take a flight to Dimapur Airport which is 70 kilometres away from this town and then travel by road.
By Train
One can also choose to opt for railway facility and select any of the towns as your destinationVia train like Rangapahar which is 70 kilometres, Dimapur which is 76 kilometres, Guwahati in Assam which is 295 kilometres away from Pfutsero and rest of the journey has to be conducted by road.
Places To Visit
Zunheboto
Sema tribe dwells in this administration headquarter of the Zunheboto District. It has an altitude of 1874 meters higher than the sea level. It is situated north east of Nagaland’s capital Kohima.
Mount Saramati
With an altitude of around 11523 feet it is Nagaland’s highest Peak. This peak offers a striking picture of the places around it. Mount Saramati touches the Indo-Myanmar border. It is situated in Tuensang district in its Kipshire division.
Satoi Range and Ghosu Bird sanctuary are quite a sight which attracts the traveling tourists to the town. If One wants to visit Pfutseo then One should ensure that One is doing so between the months of October and April. Chokri and Khezha are the most popularly spoken languages of this town. Apart from Christmas Tsukhenyie and Sukrunya are the major festivals taking place between the months of January to May. Most of the year Pfutseo faces cold climate.
