Almora city is one of the famous hill stations of Uttaranchal.The beautiful scenic chain attracts a lot of tourists.Typical handicraft of this city is another cause to attract people.Geographically this hill station is located at an altitude of 1,638mtrs from MSL.In the east, Pithouragarh district is located.Both side of this city, TELIFAT and SELIFAT are located.
Famous Nanda Devi and Chitai temples are the main temples of this city.This city is told to be 200 years old.During Mughal and British period, the charm of this city was the same as today is.King of this city announced as the seat of Goddess Nanda.This city has very charming and beautiful series of scenic places.Steep hills and peaks, singing falls, greenery around and sky touching trees add a feather to the cap.The religious faith on Jageshwar and Kasar Devi invites tourist time and again.

Through Air Route
Pantnagar is the nearest air strip located 115 kilometers away from Almora.From this airport, luxury taxies are also available to various nearby hill stations like, Nainital, Haldwani. Bus service is also available from there.
Through Rail
If a person has to arrive here, he has to deboard at Kathgodam railway station which is located at 83 kilometers far away from this city.Upto Kathgodam, broad gauge railway line is available.This station links another major part of the country.
Through Road
From Delhi(Anand Vihar) various deluxe buses are available.National highway 87 and 87E connects Almora from nearby major cities.From Delhi a journey of 365 kilometers will have to be cover to reach Almora.

Weather and Climate
During summers, maximum temperature of this city goes to 300 C and the same comes down upto 120.But in winters, the mercury reduced and shuttles between 00 to 100 .Climate of this city is generally clear.Summers are very much pleasant and winters are chill.  During monsoon season, the tracks become cloudy and thus the place is unsuitable for the persons who are found of trekking.

Martola
This place has some specialty and thus become a famous picnic spot.To access this place, transportation is easily available upto Panuwanaula.  From here, a tourist will have to cover remaining journey on foot.
Bright End Corner
This spot is located 2 kilometers away from main city.High Himalayan peaks are the major source of attraction.It is said that Swami Vivekanand has stayed at this place for a while during his discovery journey to the Himalaya.
Kalimut
This place is wholly dedicated to Kali Mata.The devotion of people is the only reason to visit this place.This spot is located 5 kilometers far from main city. Sno clad mountain peaks are another attraction of this place.
Gobind Ballabh Pant Public Museum
The location of this museum is adjacent to the bus station of the city.Opening timing of this museum is 10:340 A.M to 4:30 P.M.
Main Markets of Almora
Lala Bazar, Karkhaana Bazar and Thana Bazar are the main markets of this city.Besides these markets, one can also find necessary belongings in Mali Bazar.
