Situated towards the country's northwest, Rajasthan is the largest state by area in the Republic of India. The state covers about 10.4% of India and covers an area of 342,269 square kilometers. While the Pink City Jaipur happens to be its capital, Mount Abu in the Aravali Range happens to be the only hill station of Rajasthan. The northwest part of Rajasthan is quite dry and sandy and most of it is covered by the Thar Desert.

The climate here is divided into the seasons of summer, monsoon and winter and the weather is mostly dry except during the monsoon season. Summer months happen to be the hottest of all with the temperature reaching up to as high as 48°. It is only Mount Abuin Rajasthan that remains pleasant during this season.
