History
In order to learn about the history of this place, you need to go through 200 and 300 AD. This is one of the cities that was constructed through Chand Sadagar and was found during the time of Forest Baghmara block. It was during the Mughal reign, Mughal kings were giving their forests on lease to the Sunderbans residents. There were numerous criminals that were taking their revenge through Emperor Akbar and his advanced armies. There have been a lot of stories that many got attacked through tigers and all buildings that were developed during that time had felt in Dacoits, salt smugglers and Portuguese Pirates hands. People can get a lot of evidences from the main site that is Netidhopani and there are various other places and they are scattered in Sundarbans. Forests legal status was undergoing through a major change and it was at this point of time only that scientific management was brought into the picture. Persians were the first people who have prepared a map of the same and during the 1764 year proprietary rights have been confiscated through Alamgir second, Mughal Emperor and then East India British Company, 1757. Moreover, British were not at all expert and skilled with mangrove forests. It was in 1860s that systematic management started taking place and which led to the development of Forest Department in Bengal Province, British India.
