Famous Museums In India

HawaMahal museum in Jaipur city is one of the famous museums in India, with a honeycombed frontage, established by Maharajah SawaiPratap Singh at the end of the eighteenth century, has with it a manuscripts gallery, Armory Gallery, Coin Gallery, besides an astronomical wonder of a sun-dial.
Maharajah Sawai Museum,also situated at Jaipur,which was earlier known as Jaipur museum, exhibits the various possessions of Royals,in different sections called BagghiKhana,Armory Gallery, Art Gallery etc, can also be categorized as one of the famous museums in India.
Calcutta Indian Museum, situated in Kolkata town, taking the visitor to old age documentaries, denosaurs standing in silence, wonderful paintings having conversations with them, having six sections carrying collections of Archeology,Anthropology,Geology,Zoology,Industry and Art, is another famous museum in India.
Jaigarh Fort Museum is a Rajasthani wonder, exciting people in the midst of a fort on the hilltop, with its architectural wonders of Rajputna and Mughal kingdoms, with its unique feature of a well planned foundry, is another spot among famous museums in India.
Karnataka Museum is located at Bengaluru, the State Capital of Karnataka, one of the oldest museums in the country, housing Sandalwood crafts, antiques from Mohenjodaro and terracotta specialties from Mathura, this museum has collections not only depicting Karnatakaculture, but also from all the other parts of the country.
National Archives Museum, situated at New Delhi, is unique in the sense it is the depository of old records of Government of India, for the perusal of Administrators and Research scholars.
Salarj Jung Museum, the famous art museum, having collection of nearly one million articles which include sculptures, carvings, paintings, manuscripts, textiles, ceramics, carpets, metallic artifacts, clocks, besides furniture items from other countries like Japan, Burma, Persia, Egypt, Europe etc, most of them contributed by Salar Jung family, is considered one of the famous museums in India and also it is one of the three National Museums of India.
Virasat-e-Khalsa, which was formerly known as Khalsa Heritage Memorial Complex, is one of the famous museums in India, throwing light on the message of peace and brotherhood as envisioned by great Gurus of Sikhism, established in a large complex at Anandpur Sahib in the Rupendernagar district in Punjab State.
Government Museum at Chennai is another classic spot among famous museums in India, with sections exhibiting items of Archeology, Art, Anthropology,  Numismatics, botany, Chemical Conservation, Geology, Children’s artifacts, Zoology, established as early as 1846 AD by the Madras Literary Society.
