Nokrek National Park
This is one of the scenic national parks of the country, situated in the district West Garo Hills of Meghalaya state of India. This national park has the pride to be in the list of Biosphere reserves of UNESCO.
This park witnesses the residue strength of Red Panda, the endangered species, and also invited the world wide attention. This national p[ark is also one of the natural habitat of Asiatic Elephant. These types of elephant are very typical and their breeding system is the longest in whole world.
A very good looking specie, called Stump-tailed Macaque is found everywhere in the park. Another specie Pig Tailed Macaque also found generally. In the entire park one can hear the squeals of Hoolocks. This park is also known for its bird habitat.
In this park, plants are found in various types. A shed of typically grown high and dense jungle is able to wrap the entire national park in it. All the surrounding area of the park is also of the same environmental capability. A very special fruit tree which named Citrus Indica is found there in a large variety. This fruit is citrus and been discovered by the science as very important.
The terrain of the complete national park is hilly. The rocky area is biologically very typical as it protects itself from converting iron formation. The land of the park is granulites, gneisses and there is an encroachment of very tiny living species of plants which are self formed in uneven biological structure. The natural elements of Potash and Phosphate are found less in the land in entire national park though the important organic property of nitrogen is found sufficient in the land
The origin of all the major rivers of this area is in this region and the river Simsang flows through the area called Someshwari. This river has a long bed of flow and also shares another country Bangla Desh. This river is one of the most useful rivers of the state. Another beautiful spot in this region is Rongbang Dare water fall.

Things to do in National Park
In this national park one can make enjoyment by bird watching, the Asiatic elephant and other species in their natural habitat.
A very challenging trekking path is spread from Simsang to Tura hills; this trek passes through very dense natural surroundings of forests and wends just before Tura top.
A very pleasant and calm view of steep climbed mountains alongwith the great Brahmaputra river welcome a visitor enters the national park. If someone visiting with a view of archeological findings, the mesmerizing beauty of valley through river Gangol and Rongram are flowing, will caught the person forever and invite to see this place time and again.
Wild Life: In this national park various species are sharing their natural habitat like Panthor, Leopard, Leopard cat, Longur, Fishing Cat, Wild Buffalow, Tiger, Asiatic Elephant reptiles like Python, birds like Peacock, Pheasant and Hollock.
Accommodation: At this national park some; facilities for accommodation are easily available. From rest houses, lodges maintained by the forest department of the state, are also available. Some tourist resorts and hotels are also available there. The basic amenities are maintained in these accommodations so that the trip of a visitor may not suffer due to lack of these facilities.
