Nightlife
There is high spirited nightlife in the Kovalan beach especially due to the atmosphere of visitors drinking and playing backgammon almost till the morning hours. A few restaurants there play music so do the nearby cafés on the beach. The video nights and charas is common though the state government doesn’t permit cannabis which is illegal here as well as other parts of India. Foreigners are often arrested by the local police for possessing such illegal items.

Restaurants have slow services hence it is better to wait and drink beer until meal is served. Good varieties of wines and other drinks are made available. One can enjoy music while drinking.
