Apart from this, about 797.72 sq km width was added to the Corbett National Reserve as absorber breadth.  This breadth involves Ramnagar backwoods and Kalagarh backwoods division.

History
In the past years about 1815-20 at the time of Britishers, these forest of Corbett park is the private property of local rulers of India. After the property transferred to the hand of British, the government paid no attention in maintaining this park. Their main aim is to recover more profit from the jungle and to exploit the natural resources from the jungle. The first wide ranging forest conservation plan to protect the forest was started by Major Ramsay in year 1858.  He ensured the community that by the year 1896 the condition of the forest start to improve and his orders were also followed strictly by the government. In the lower Patlidun Valley, there was strict banned on farming in year 1861-62.  Now by the later time, department of forest understood the responsibility of forest in 1868 and they declared forest reservation under the forest Act in 1879.  The United Province National park Act was established in year 1936, and then after this Act was enforced, this reserved forest turned into India’s first national park.  The field of wildlife reservation came in existence in year 1973 and this year became a landmark in this field. The world’s most biggest and prestigious project,PROJECT TIGER, was launched by the perfectionist of wild life for environmental conservationin this year.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit this park is from June to November especially before and after heavy monsoon.
  • To enjoy the scenic beauty and spotting animals, then month of November to June is best time.
  • For downhill region sight seeing, then months of July to October is good.

To visit the Corbett National park, Patanagar airport is the nearest airport. It is about a 50 km far from the Corbett national park and it is a domestic airport. Things to Do in – Corbett National Park
The most common things to do in Jim Corbett National Park is jeep or elephant safari. This park also includes forests of Sal and deciduous.  There is variety of wild life that includes sambhar, chital, hog deer, antelope and various other animals. In the most popular Ramganga reservoir in this park, one can also enjoy bird watching and angling.  There are about 600 species of birds in this reservoir. Weather
There is a moderate climate in the Corbett National Park. During the monsoon rainy season, this park became closed for the months of mid June to mid November.
  • Summers (March to May), there is about high temperature of 40°C with average temperature of 30 °C.  This season is good for the tourist who wants to visit this park.
  • Monsoons (June to September), in this season, there is heavy rainfall and also light rainfall throughout the year.  To enjoy the foothills, monsoon is very good season.
  • Winters (December to February), there is about temperature of 5 °C to 30 °C.  Morning during the winters are generally foggy.
