Baga Beach


Baga Beach of Goa is one option for people who like to remain away from bustle and hustle, which they experience on other beaches.

Baga Beach of Goa will give you a feeling like it has come out alive out of one painting. Majestic waves rush out wiping out your feet imprints on brown sand at same time wind continue flirting with palm trees.

Location
Baga Beach lies in northern region of Goa. It is sixteen kilometers or ten mile from Panaji, capital of Goa and nine kilometers or six miles from Mapusa. Calangute Beach lies at southern border of this beach and Anjuna Beach is on north over another side of river. With end of Calangute is starting point of Baga Beach, though you can hardly pinpoint where.
How To Reach
Thivium is a closest train station from Baga. You can expect about 5 dollars to pay for travelling from taxi towards Baga from this railway station. As an alternate, Dabolim airport of Goa is located about 50 kilometers distance from Baga and you have to pay around 15 dollars for one pre-paid taxi.
By Air
Dabolim is a nearest airport from Baga, which is 29 kilometers from Panaji.
By Rail
Karmali is nearest train station from Baga, which is 11 kilometers from Panaji.
By Road
It is just 15 minutes drive from Mapusa and 30 minutes drive from Panaji.
Temperature And Weather
Throughout year weather remains warm at Baga. Here temperature rarely reach above 33o Celsius or 91o Fahrenheit during day or drops below 20o Celsius or 68o Fahrenheit at night. A few nights during winter can get little chilly though from December month to February. Baga village receives rain through southwest monsoon starting from June month till August. Beach huts remain closed during this period, although several nightspots keep opening. During late October, tourist season jump starts and begin to slow down when March comes.
Attractions
One huge attraction at Baga Beach is Water Sports. You can go for para sailing, windsurfing, Jet Ski ride, island trips, trips for dolphin spotting, kite surfing and wake boarding. However, there are several people, who simply like content lazing over sun lounges lying ahead of beach shacks for all day, feasting all day long on food, cocktails and beer. Flea market on Wednesday at Anjuna beach and night market on Saturday at Arpora, both are close by and will surely satisfy even best of shopaholics.
